Colloquium on banking supervisory law: art or science? (together with the University of Lausanne CEDIDAC, 24 November 2023)

This half-day colloquium was dedicated to the topic of banking supervision. 70th Forum Financial Market Regulation of 18 October 2023

Special Seminar with Prof. Ross Buckley (UNSW Sidney) of 5 October 2023

68th Forum Finanzmarktregulierung of 23 May 2023

On Tuesday, 23 May 2023, the 68th Financial Market Regulation Forum was held on the topic "Crypto-based values ​​and facts of market abuse: What risks for Swiss market players?" with Dr iur. Cédric Remund (lawyer, federal public prosecutor, responsible for "general white-collar crime" at the federal prosecutor's office) and Ariel Ben Hattar (attorney-at-law, partner at Lenz & Staehelin). Updated Meta-index on Financial Regulation of 10 May 2023  (with Swiss Finance Institute, SFI) 

Financial regulation is becoming ever broader, more complex and more global. However, the implementation of rules and standards created by international bodies varies from country to country, as does the extent to which such rules are enforced. In order to facilitate comparison and to assess the reputation and attractiveness of different financial centres. The SFI , together with URPP professors Steven Ongena and Christoph Basten, created a global meta-index on financial regulation, transparency and compliance in 2020. On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the SFI invited you to the webinar where the latest edition of this index was presented.

Central Bank Digital Currencies on 9 May 2023 (in cooperation with Collegium Helveticum)

The aim of this colloquium was an in-depth analysis of several issues relating to Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), such as the relationship between CBDCs and stablecoins, the global financial architecture and decentralised CBDC regimes, the perspective of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) and the European Central Bank (ECB) on CBDCs, as well as institutional and macroeconomic aspects relating to their introduction. Crisis Conference Call  of 26 April 2023

On Wednesday, 26 April 2023, this event (in English) was held together with the UZH Center for Crisis Competence, on the topic of "How crisis-proof is the Swiss financial centre? ". This question was discussed with URPP professor Christoph Basten, who has experience from his work at FINMA as well as from his research on banks and banking systems.

67th Forum Finanzmarktregulierung  of 18 April 2023

On Tuesday, 18 April 2023, the 67th Financial Market Regulation Forum on the subject of "The rescue of Credit Suisse - an initial cautious analysis" was held with Dr. iur. Reto Schiltknecht, lawyer, senior counsel at the consulting firm Geissbühler Weber & Partner, Zurich, and research associate at the URPP financial market regulation, formerly responsible at FINMA for the "too big to fail" dossier. The forum (jointly with the UZH Center for Crisis Competence) was moderated by Prof. Dr. Alexander Wagner.
